July 27, 2020, ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque chaired 39th meeting of the Policy Committee of Universal Service Fund (USF Co) on Monday. The Committee approved USF’s Annual Budget of PKR 11,376 Million for the Financial Year 2020-21.
The members of Committee in the meeting approved the minutes of 38th meeting of the Policy Committee and gave approval for the USF annual budget of PKR 11,376 Million for the financial year 2020-21. Earlier, Universal Service Fund Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary briefed the chair about USF projects for providing broadband services in unserved and underserved areas of the country.
The Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Syed Amin ul Haque appreciated USF’s efforts and gave direction for timely completion of projects in a transparent manner. He directed USF management to accelerate initiatives for providing high-speed broadband services across the country. He also stated that IT and Telecom projects are vital for completion of Digital Pakistan vision. Furthermore, he added that in view of coronavirus internet availability is utmost important for online study and working.
Meeting was also attended by the officers of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.
